Master Directory of All Puff Quilt Instructional Posts You are currently reading post six.
I don’t have a lot of time today, so I’m going to just jump right in. My quilt is going to be 20 squares wide by 17 squares long so I’ll be needing 17 strips of 20 squares per strip. I’ll show you today how to sew the squares you previously pinned and sewed into strips.
Grab the number of squares that your quilt will be across. Start by placing them with the fronts facing each other in groups of two. Sew these together on one side in the way that leaves your opening that you stuff at the top for both squares. Since my quilt is 20 across, that means I have 10 groups of 2 squares to sew together.
Take those groups and sew them again, making sure the opening is facing up in all of them. Keep doing this until you have every single one of those squares sewn into a line.
Next week I’ll be teaching you to stuff them and sew together to form your quilt top. If you are just now starting with us, we have a directory of all the quilt lessons so you can learn to sew a puff/biscuit quilt from step 1. I hope you join us and show off your creations!
